Purpose

CivicPublic helps people understand public decisions, explore representatives and candidates, and find election information. It is an independent civic information service and is not affiliated with a government, political party or candidate. We do not endorse or rank candidates.

Sources and coverage

We link to original sources and distinguish official records from campaign statements and reporting. Coverage varies by place and period; missing information does not establish that a person took no action. Records and election instructions can change. Check the linked election authority for current voting eligibility, deadlines and procedures.

AI and editorial review

AI may assist with evidence review and summaries. It can make mistakes. Source-supported changes are reviewed through our correction process, and substantive AI proposals need an editor's approval. AI does not determine a person's beliefs, honesty, suitability for office or criminal conduct.

Submissions and corrections

Use the correction form or contact@civicpublic.com to report an error, missing source, response or rights concern. Supply relevant evidence and only material you are entitled to share. Do not submit private messages, home addresses, personal information about children, threats or unsupported allegations. You retain rights in original material you submit; you allow us to review it and use source-supported portions to correct or explain the relevant record. Submitting does not guarantee publication or a change. Raw submissions stay private; published corrections can include a source, an attributed response and an explanation.

Responsible use and other publishers

Do not interfere with the service, bypass access controls, misuse private receipts or present CivicPublic as a government or campaign service. External websites have their own policies. Third-party photographs, quotations and documents retain their owners' rights; a source link is not a reuse licence. Obtain permission or rely on an applicable legal exception before reusing protected material.

We work to correct errors but cannot promise complete coverage, uninterrupted access or error-free information. Nothing here removes rights or responsibilities that applicable law does not permit us to exclude. We may update these terms; the revision date will appear on this page.
